About Nanjing Museum

Originally proposed by Cai Yuanpei in 1933 as the National Central Museum, Nanjing Museum is one of the earliest modern museums in China. It was redeveloped in 2013 into six themed galleries.

Its 430,000 objects include the Han-era jade burial suit linked with gold thread and an entire recreated Republican-era street complete with vintage shops and tea houses.
