About Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
Designed by Kenzo Tange and opened in 1955, the museum sits within Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park alongside the Cenotaph and the preserved Atomic Bomb Dome.
The exhibitions document the human and material consequences of the atomic bombing through personal effects, photographs, and survivor testimony, and present the city's continuing call for nuclear abolition.

Preventable blindness, caused by conditions like cataracts and trachoma, affects people of all ages across the world's poorest communities. A small gift — for the cost of a museum ticket — can provide a simple surgery to restore someone's sight and transform their life.
